Galveston Island is on the great Texas avian migration trail so every spring our skies literally fill with migratory birds. The FeatherFest and Nature PhotoFest is a four day event held every year that brings together birding enthusiasts, photographers, naturalists, and folks who just want to explore nature, and get some sun and exercise on the field trips.
The 11th annual FeatherFest will be April 11 – 14, 2013. Workshops will be held on the campus of UTMB’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) in the Island Community Center at 4700 Broadway, Galveston, TX 77551.
Birding is becoming more and more popular with the new camera technologies and the 2012 FeatherFest and Nature PhotoFest broke attendance records with 4,000 birders spotting 203 different species of birds. We look forward to seeing the return of our feathered friends, as well as friends who will take a plane or car. Let us know if Cool Tours can assist with any individual or group transportation needs with a custom airport shuttle or charter service package.
